Animal Safari

October 17, 2010

As I downloaded the pictures from this weekend, I realized I’d been on some sort of crazy animal safari. Most likely brought on by the consumption of wine and blondie baking at 11PM on a Friday night. It seemed like a good idea at the time.

On Saturday, I went to the IDS Design Show West , where I hung out with Littlefoot and Cera. I’m sure Ducky, Petrie and Spike just went to grab a beer from Steamworks. We must have missed them at lunch. This was also the booth where we were mistaken for Interior Designers.

Thankfully, no one mistook us for being among the screaming hordes of tweens that descended on the downtown core in hopes of Beiber sightings and the free concerts the newly opened Joe Fresh store sponsored. My eardrums may never recover.

I wish my escape from the screaming tweens was done across a floor of these tiles. It would have made the escape more entertaining.

While we spent  a lot of time making new designs on the tiles, we avoided walking across the carpet made of sea creatures.

Then we headed outside, into the sunshine, where we found some sea mammals had jumped ashore.DSC01844 People should be more concerned with the whales escaping Legoland.DSC01846You never know where they’ll end up. They could end up somewhere like this:

DSC01843Oops, not sure how that gratuitous shot of the sunny, warm weather snuck in here.

A visit to the Ikea chaos zoo, resulted in an impromptu trip home.

DSC01850In hindsight, I’m pretty sure I was being scammed into being a sort of pack horse, but clearly I won that battle.

DSC01851 Or not. Nothing says “rocking saturday night” than hanging out at the ferry terminal, in the pay parking kiosk, while someone goes and gets the car.

IMG00326-20101016-1857 The safari was far from over, for when I went to go to bed, I discovered a new breed of cat snuggled comfortably in the futon.DSC01852 Here is a close up

DSC01853 I’d like to think it was all a dream, but my alarm clock says differently.

DSC01857  Nope, definitely not a dream.

By the way, I tried to get a picture of the cat wearing the wig later, but apparently she doesn’t like being made to wear costumes.

Haha but the cat would have looked so cute in the wig!!

Also, am I the only one that wants Justin Beiber to cut his hair? Does that make me old? Because I really don’t get kids and their styles these days.
